![]() When you want the toughest mechanical security for your building, you want the 40H Series from BEST. ![]() Personally I use a small rfid sticker stuck to my phone so I don't need to carry any keys around.Product Overview Best 45H7AB Grade 1 Office/Entry Mortise Lock, H Rose, SFIC Housing Less Core No need to have a battery pack or adapter cable with you outside the house to get in, just keep one in your car or get to the nearest gas station and buy a battery, which I think is really smart. If the AA batteries in the unit die you can use any 9-volt battery to give it a jump by just pressing it against the handle. In manual mode the lock will not engage unless you lock it manually from either the inside or outside. While locked the inside handle can be engaged and the outside handle cannot. In auto the door will automatically engage a deadbolt three seconds after the door closes. Operationally there are only two modes auto and manual. It's not 'smart' in that it has no connectivity, but you can use rfid, a combination or physical key to unlock it, and there is a version with a fingerprint reader, but I don't recommend that one. Samsung Digital Door Lock SHS-P717LMK/EN Push Pull Two Way Latch Mortise English Version (Morise - AML220) I have experience installing one of these and can recommend it: My suggestion is to replace it rather than upgrade it with tech. ![]() Maybe I can disable the latch at all? Anybody had the same problem and found a solution? If I could keep position 2 permanently I could easily use a smart lock on the deadbolt like the August one but having the latch always going back to position 1 when the Deadbolt locks makes it impossible. Locking the Deadbolt will reset the Latch to Position 1. Latch position 2: Outside Handle can be pressed down when door is closed. Latch position 1: Outside Handle can't be pressed down when door is closed. On first sight I thought it would be rather straightforward but after looking at it in more detail I figured out it's not possible without more changes I guess. I want to add a smart lock to the door of my condo. (If you would like your sub listed please contact the mods!)
